About The Author

MATT DAVIS, the “Truck Driver from Alabama” was born at the height of the Depression on June 2, 1931, in the small community of Franklin Town, in the township of Evergreen, Alabama. He was born in a one-room log cabin with one window, one door, and no running water. Matt was delivered by his father’s mother, Hattie Davis, a midwife. She had all the experience and necessary equipment to bring Matt safely into this world. Matt was mostly self-educated, he attended higher learning institutions and for purposes stated, “he studied Spanish I, at the University of Nevada (UNLV) during 1995, entering the university under the continuing education program. He was forced to leave UNLV because of his health.

Diagnosed with prostrate cancer he went to the Cancer Treatment Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. In 1996, he continued his Spanish training by taking a course at the United Way. He completed the course and was awarded a Certificate of Completion. during the same time, he attended Hallie Heweston Elementary School evening classes and further studied at Bob Stupak Community Center under a Spanish professor, where he received certificates for his studies and his ability to speak Spanish. The author is an American who seeks to assert his right to play in the American social, economic, and political system.

He planted a zucchini seed in his desert garden in North Las Vegas during the spring of 2003, but it did not come up until 2005. The first zucchini weighing 10 pounds and measuring 20 inches was harvested on May 5, 2005. He had shoulder surgery in 1979; was diagnosed with prostrate cancer in 1995; and spent many days at Cancer Treatment Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He had eye surgery in 1996 when his retina fell apart. In 2002, his upper left lung was removed due to a cancerous mass; and in 2005 he underwent major lower back surgery in order to walk again. Matt has cancer check-ups every six months. He had blood work done on December 2, 2005; a chest cat scan on December 9, 2005; and a visit with his cancer blood specialist on December 20, 2005 after which he was diagnosed as CANCER FREE!

He also speaks Spanish.
